Save the Oak Ridges Moraine Coalition

Save The Oak Ridges Moraine (STORM) Coalition is focused on protecting the ecological integrity of the Oak Ridges Moraine. Since 1989, STORM has been working at the local and regional levels to ensure that municipalities make good planning decisions that respect the environmental significance of the moraine and that take into account its ecological and hydrological functions.

Sierra Club of Canada – Peel Group

Sierra Club Peel group is a group of concerned citizens who volunteer their time to carry out environmental campaigns and conservation projects within the Peel Region. The group’s aim is to educate and empower the residents of Peel to be defenders and responsible stewards of the natural environment.

The Peel group has three goals:

  • To advocate for sustainable urban centres, and low impact development that protects watershed health.
  • To encourage innovative transit solutions that make Peel more bikeable, walkable, and carbon free.
  • To protect and enhance natural areas in Peel, such as the Credit Valley and Woodlands in Mississauga, the Greenbelt in northwest Brampton, and Peel Region’s watersheds, namely the Credit River, Etobicoke Creek and Humber River watersheds.
