Caledon Creek Community Tree Planting Event
Join community partners and local residents in restoring habitat for the endangered Redside Dace and other fish and wildlife; combat climate change; and green your neighbourhood by planting trees.
Roadside parking is permitted.
Shovels, gloves and light refreshments will be provided. Please dress for the weather.
Location: Tree planting is east of Caledon Village, on the north side of Charleston Sideroad west of Kennedy Road. From Charleston Sideroad, turn north on Chester Drive, then right on Avellino Court. Meet the green team at the entrance to the greenbelt.

Your Green Yard Workshop - Lake Wabukayne
Do you live in the Lake Wabukayne neighbourhood? Learn about vibrant local native species that are right for your yard, how to maintain your yard environmentally, and how to green your outdoor building projects. Neighbours can sign up at the event to receive a free tree or shrub.
The information in this workshop is oriented toward Lake Wabukayne area residents but all are welcome to attend.
Join Bridget Stutchbury, an international birding expert and professor at York University, as she relates her world travels from the jungles of Costa Rica and Belize to the forests here in our backyards. Discover how migratory birds live, find out why their numbers are declining and learn how you can make a difference. Bridget was a finalist for the Governor General’s Literary Awards for her book “Silence of the Songbirds” and was recognized by the Globe and Mail as a Best Book of the Year.

This event is a community celebration of the Creditview Wetland, organized by the Creditview Wetland Stewardship Committee in partnership with CVC and the City of Mississauga.
This event includes a presentation by CVC staff on 'Native Plant Gardening.' Learn how to plant your lawn and garden with vibrant native species that are right for your yard! Discover local native plants, how to work with your specific site conditions and other tips for a sustainable green yard.
This is an opportunity to learn about removing invasive species and exploring the Wetland.
Activities are also planned for children.
