This workshop is a free, interactive, two-day workshop for the equine community. The first part of the workshop will be held on Saturday March 27th, 2010 from 9-3pm at the Caledon Community Complex located at 6215 Old Church Road, Caledon East. The second part of the workshop will be held on Saturday April 10th, 2010 from 9-3pm at the Caledon Village Library located at 18313 Highway 10, Caledon. You must be able to attend both dates in order to register. Morning coffee and lunch will be provided on both days and a bus tour of local equine facilities is arranged for the second part of the workshop.

2nd Annual Sharing Experiences Workshop
This workshop is brought to you by your local Conservation Authority and Stewardship Council. Groups and individuals who undertake environmental projects in their community are invited to attend. Participants will share their experiences and gain valuable knowledge on stewardship initiatives

Annual Spring Clean-Up at Rattray Marsh Conservation Area. Wear sturdy boots, work gloves, and dress for the weather. Work gloves are available. Snacks provided.

A Grand Re-opening of Terra Cotta Conservation Area
Pancakes, sausages and beverages will be served from 9 a.m. to noon. The cost is $5 for adults and $3 for children (6-12 yrs.) and all proceeds will go to the Friends of Terra Cotta in support of the Terra Cotta Centre for Environmental Learning Campaign. Join us at 1 p.m. outside the new Welcome Centre for a free piece of cake to celebrate the re-opening of Terra Cotta CA at the official ceremony.
Other activities include: maple syrup demonstrations and free samples; giveaways and prizes; wagon rides and guided nature hikes; a tree nusery tour; and interactive nature displays.
Please dress appropriately for the weather.

What"s more important, oil or water? Alberta"s tar sands are the size of Florida and soon to be Canada"s largest emitter of greenhouse gases. Each barrel of gas extracted from the tar requires two to five barrels of water, heated by natural gas, to produce one barrel of oil.

Join native plant grower and author Dan Bissonnette as he shares his insights into developing community-based systems of seed collection, cultivation and distribution that can benefit both the local community and the environment.
This unique presentation will empower communities and community-based organizations to develop their own sustainable indigenous plant cultivation programs that could be maintained for generations to come.

Orangeville Earth Day Tree Planting and Creek Clean-up
Join community partners to help combat climate change, shade Mill Creek to improve habitat for native fish, and clean and green your neighbourhood! Meet at the Fendley Park parking lot on Fendley Road, southwest of Riddell Road and Montgomery Boulevard at 9:00 am. BBQ lunch for volunteers will be provided by the Orangeville Optimist Club. Please dress for the weather – wear long pants and sturdy footwear. Bring gloves and shovels if you can, otherwise this equipment will be provided.
Spring time is the perfect time to be introduced to the newest little residents of a wetland and forest habitat. Come for an outdoor hike and learn about the newborn animals at Terra Cotta CA and the busyness of animal parenthood. Bring your own binoculars or you can borrow a pair to share.
Please note that registration is required to attend the event. Registration closes March April 22nd.

E-liminate Your E-Waste - Earth Week Event
Square One is hosting its second annual E-liminate Your E-Waste TV and Computer Recycling Event. As part of the event, Earth Week displays will be set up on the upper level court in the mall. Credit Valley Conservation will host a booth that offers residents the opportunity to donate a toonie to help plant trees in Woodington Green Park, near Square One. In return for your donation you will receive a tree seedling compliments of Square One that you can plant in your own garden.
