Caring for Your Land & Water Workshop: A Free Workshop for Rural Landowners

Saturday, May 5, 2012

8:30 a.m. registration; event runs from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Community Room, Centre 2000, Erin (View Map)

FREE, morning snack and Caring for Your Land & Water guidebook included.

At this workshop rural landowners will learn about the threats to their local environment and how they can take action on their own properties and manage their natural features. Participants will work through a guidebook that will give them the tools and resources to best manage their properties and give them a good start towards creating their personalized Landowner Action Plan.

CVC’s knowledgeable staff will be there to guide them through breakout sessions on special interests such as forests, wetlands, septic systems, water wells, or landscaping. Participants come away from the workshop with a better understanding of what steps they can take to help them care for the land and water on their own property and the services CVC offers to rural landowners.

Participants that complete their Landowner Action Plan can apply to the Landowner Action Fund for assistance with stewardship projects.

To register, we’ll require your lot, concession, and township. Landowners should own 1 acre or more or rural property in the Credit River Watershed.

Registration is required and can be completed by calling 905-670-1615 x 436.
