Learn the signs of healthy forests and wetlands. Our experts show you strategies from nature’s playbook you can apply on your property to keep nature at its best. Attend all day or a half-day session, both sessions include lunch.

Morning: Forest Health (9:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.)

Discover how forests change over time through the process of succession. Learn when and why different trees species grow in forests. Learn the difference between a natural forest and a plantation forest and when nature needs a helping hand through forest management activities. This session will take you outside as we explore the Monora Park Forest on a short guided walk.

Dress for the weather and wear sturdy shoes for the guided forest walk.

Afternoon: Wetland Health (12:15 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.)

Discover how wetlands and ponds change over time through the process of succession. Learn to recognize if you have wetlands on your property and when nature needs a helping hand through restoration activities. Hear how landowners can play an important role in protecting these important wetland features.

Please note: Preference is given to landowners in the Credit River watershed. You can look up your address here to see if your property falls within the watershed.
