Island Lake Conservation Area Walking trails, picnic areas and water access are available.  Yellow Perch, Black Crappie, Largemouth Bass and Northern Pike open for fishing.
       ~  Lakeside Trail   The Trails are open, take caution of erosion in sloped sections. Due to recent heavy rain, there are frequent washouts on areas of the trail.
Terra Cotta Conservation Area Self-serve fee station or display valid membership on your dashboard applies during the week, gatehouse open on weekends. Visitors Welcome Centre open weekends only.
Belfountain Conservation Area Open daily 8:00am-9:00pm. Please see below for updates to our picnicking policy.
Ken Whillans Conservation Area Open daily 7am – 9pm. Stocked: Rainbow Trout.
Rattray Marsh Conservation Area Water levels within the park are back to normal. The water level by the beach and shingle bar area are higher than normal. Please be safe and stay on marked trails. The boardwalk between Knoll Trail and the Old Poplar Row Trail will be closed for six weeks starting Thursday, July 13th, 2017. More details below.  

Island Lake Conservation Area

  Summer hours for Island Lake CA are 8:00 a.m. – 9 p.m. weekdays and 6am – 9pm weekends and holidays. NEW online equipment rentals available at Walking trails, picnic areas, and water access are currently available.  Trail access parking areas are listed here: Picnic bookings are available at 

Bear Wise

Last fall a bear track was found at Island Lake however there have been no confirmed sightings of an actual bear. Unfortunately, we cannot predict what bears in the area will do and as such must advise there is always a risk of a local bear entering Island Lake. We are not closing any trails as we have no evidence of bears in the local vinicitiy but will continue to advise that all trail users be Bear Wise and follow the recommendations provided by the Ministry of Natural Resources at:

Terra Cotta Conservation Area

Terra Cotta Conservation Area is open daily from 8:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m. Monday to Friday, please pay the self-serve fee or display a valid membership on your dashboard. The gatehouse is staffed on weekends. The Visitor’s Welcome Centre is open for merchandise sales on weekends only. Belfountain Conservation Area

PLEASE NOTEA new picnic policy is being initiated at Belfountain Conservation Area. Day camping is no longer permitted and all 10 picnic tables now have a 30 minute maximum to ensure that all visitors have access to resting areas if needed. We suggest visiting Island Lake CA or Terra Cotta CA if you are interested in picnicking for periods longer than 30 minutes.

Belfountain Conservation Area is open daily from 8:00 a.m.- 9:00 p.m. A parking fee of $10.00 per vehicle applies on weekends only. Please join us throughout the summer for our Health and Wellness series provided by Humans in Nature, Inc. :

 Ken Whillans Resource Management Area

Ken Whillans is open daily from 7:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. Walking trails, shore fishing, and water access are available during these times.

Rattray Marsh Conservation Area

The replacement of the boardwalks connected to the lower Sheridan Creek bridge on the Waterfront Trail is scheduled to begin on Thursday July 13th, 2017. The section of Waterfront Trail between the Knoll trail and the Old Poplar Row Trail will be closed for a period of approximately six weeks. This work will involve the replacement of the existing boardwalks and support piers. The Silver Birch trail will remain open to bypass the construction site.
