Spring hours for Island Lake CA are 8am – 8pm weekdays. 7am – 8pm weekends. Walking trails, picnic areas, shore fishing, water access available during these times. Water levels at Island Lake Conservation Area have returned to near normal springtime levels. There is currently no evidence of a negative impact to the fishery. Trail conditions are currently dry. Trail access parking areas are listed here: www.creditvalleyca.ca/VBLT.
Last fall a bear track was found at Island Lake however there have been no confirmed sightings of an actual bear. Unfortunately, we cannot predict what bears in the area will do and as such must advise there is always a risk of a local bear entering Island Lake. We are not closing any trails as we have no evidence of bears in the local vinicitiy but will continue to advise that all trail users be Bear Wise and follow the recommendations provided by the Ministry of Natural Resources at: https://www.ontario.ca/page/prevent-bear-encounters-bear-wise
Terra Cotta Conservation Area is open daily from 8am-6pm. Please pay the self-serve fee or display a valid membership on your dashboard.
Belfountain will reopen for the season on April 29th, 2017 but will be temporarily closed to the public May 1-5th, 2017. Regular operational hours will start again May 6th, 2017 for the remainder of the season.
Ken Whillans is open starting April 22nd, 2017 for walking trails, shore fishing, and water access. Spring hours are 7am – 8pm daily.
