Island Lake Conservation Area

Due to mild temperatures and unsafe shorelines ice fishing and skating areas are closed. The park will be open from 8 a.m.-3 p.m. for non ice related activities. We will reevaluate Friday afternoon and expect this is not the end of the season just yet. Trail conditions are currently muddy and bare with icy patches. Trail access parking areas are listed here: www.creditvalleyca.ca/VBLT. Trail surfaces are not cleared in the winter and proper footwear or winter equipment should be used.

Maple Syrup Festival: Starting March 11th, 2017. Please go to www.maplesyrupfest.com for information on this year’s festival and to purchase tickets online.

In response to potential bear tracks found at Island Lake Conservation Area, CVC has reported a bear track sighting to the Ministry of Natural Resources. Trails are open and it is important to be bear wise. For MNR safety tips visit: www.ontario.ca/page/prevent-bear-encounters-bear-wise.

Our skiing and snowshoeing program is closed due to trail conditions. The skating pond closed. Please obey all posted signage and use caution when accessing trails.

Maple Syrup Festival: Starting March 4th, 2017. Please go to www.maplesyrupfest.com for information on this year’s festival and to purchase tickets online.
