Discover Nature with Us

Are you a day camp provider looking for programs to get your kids active and outdoors? Credit Valley Conservation is offering exciting field trip opportunities for summer camps.

Full or half-day nature-based programs take place at the beautiful Terra Cotta Conservation Area in Halton Hills. The park is only a 30-minute bus ride from Orangeville and Brampton, and 15-minutes from Georgetown.

Field trips run on weekdays during July and August and are intended for children ages 6 to 12 years old. Programs are booked on a first come, first serve basis.

Field Trip Program Descriptions

If attending one of our half-day programs, booking leaders will select one of the programs listed below. If participating in our full-day program, both programs will be offered, one during the morning session and one in the afternoon session.

What do animals need to survive? Why do some animals migrate? How are human activities impacting the animals in our environment? Learn all about this and more with our Summer Camp Nature Games program. Instructors lead participants in teams through a series of nature games that encourage children to learn more about nature in a fun and engaging way.

Let’s explore some of the different habitats found at Terra Cotta Conservation Area. Using tools like magnifying glasses and trowels, children will explore forest and wetland habitats to learn more about what makes these sites the perfect home for animals. Instructors will lead students on a nature hike, teach them more about the adaptions of local animals and campers will even have the chance to build an animal home of their own!
