Making It Work: Credit River Water Management Strategy Update (CRWMSU) Initiatives
In 2006:
Credit Valley Conservation (CVC) in partnership with watershed municipalities and stakeholders:
- developed the Making It Work: Credit River Water Management Strategy Update (CRWMSU)
- held the first Making It Work workshop , a four-day event in June 2006:
- CRWMSU was presented
- Credit River Charter signed by Watershed Mayors, CVC & Regional Chairs
In 2007 and 2008 CVC:
- initiated Subwatershed Studies and Restoration Plans to implement the findings of the CRWMSU
- developed the Stormwater Management Guidance Documents drafts, also available on the website
- in partnership with TRCA, held the professional development Low Impact Development workshop on Oct. 7 '08
- held the professional development Strategic Sustainability workshop on Nov. 10 '08
2009 initiatives, CVC will:
- Develop Toolkits on Sustainable Technologies/ LID Incentives and Policies for municipalities' reference
- Hold more Professional Development Workshops to guide you through our LID Manual!
- Enhance the Monitoring program for LID demonstration sites
- Upgrade our Strategies for Sustainability Website to include virtual tours of existing and demonstration sites, lessons learned and other information based on your feedback
- Develop Planting Guidelines and fact sheets to help you design your own LID site!
