Invasive Plants
Invasive plants are most often non-native plants that out-compete native species. Humans, wildlife, wind and water move invasive plants, which lack natural predators, grow aggressively, reproduce rapidly, and are difficult to eradicate.
The presence of invasive plants can mean less food and shelter for wildlife dependent on native plants, and often results in decreased biodiversity. It is important to never plant invasive plants on your property, and eradicate those that already exist.
Landowners should check regularly to ensure that invasive plants have not established themselves on their property.
