The Farm Gate

Agriculture is practiced on more than 71,000 acres in the Credit River watershed and is therefore a major land-use holder.  Healthy landscapes are required in order to maintain healthy aquatic and terrestrial habitats for plant and animal species.  Farmers are key stakeholders in the protection of environmental resources, such as water, air, soil and biodiversity.

The Farm Gate section of Credit Valley Conservation’s website is meant to be an environmental resource for those engaged in the business of agriculture.  Here you will find information on various agri-environmental beneficial management practices and how they can improve environmental quality and how to obtain financial and technical support for your environmental improvement projects.
